About Me
Hey, I'm Alexander. I grew up in Germany and went to study in Alaska. At the University of Alaska Fairbanks I was a dual student-athlete in cross-country skiing and cross-country running while finishing a BS in Computer Science.
My first job was in Alaska, doing full stack work in Haskell. These days I'm a lead software engineer at Personio.
Outside of work I like learning things for their own sake. I'm a big programming language enthusiast, and lately I write a lot of Go. This blog runs on a small Go generator I wrote. I live in the terminal, use Neovim, and I'm drawn to simple things, not minimal ones.
I always wanted a blog, but I'm not a natural writer, so mostly I don't. When I do, I try to write about software and the human side of working on it. The post I'm most proud of is On Grace, Frustration, and Getting to Know People.
I live in Germany with my wife and three kids.
